We are dedicated to your pet’s health. We’re a walk-in clinic, and we want you to know that we’ll be here when you need us most. To make life easier, we’re open on Sundays so that you have a resource for your pet on the weekends, too! Scroll down and get to know our veterinary team, led by Dr. Karla!

Dr. Karla

Veterinarian

Dr. Karla (formerly Bean) is a native of Rowan County. Raised on a small hobby farm, her interest in animals and animal care began at a young age. After attending Wake Forest University, and spending 3 years of active duty in the United States Army, she decided to pursue her dream and attend Veterinary School. After another bachelor’s degree at NC State in Animal Science, she entered NC State’s Veterinary School and graduated in 2006.

She owns a small hobby farm, complete with horses, a mini mule (Jelly Bean), llamas, a donkey (Daisy), chickens, ducks, and dogs. A fan of kitties, you can see many at her home, as well as at the clinic. She has two Chihuahuas, Charlie and Petunia, and they go everywhere with her and get spoiled daily. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and spending time with her animals.

Alejandra

Alejandra was born and raised in Kannapolis, NC. She has been part of the team since May 2021. You’ll only see her on Sundays as she’s finishing her last year of undergrad at NC State, with plans to attend Veterinary School.

She has a dog named “Vaquita” (little cow) and a general love for cows!

When not working or studying, she enjoys going to the lake or reading a good book!

Arnold Mejia

Arnold has been part of the team since August 2016. He assists in rooms and performs various duties around the clinic. When not working, he enjoys watching and playing soccer, learning English, and attending church.

Brandi

Brandi has been a part of the team since 2018. Originally from Granite Falls, she moved here in 2016 and pursued a career as a zoo keeper. She quickly realized her true passion was in animal welfare and rescue and switched career paths. You’ll see her on Sundays at the clinic as she works full time during the week at The Humane Society of Concord. Since it’s hard not to take animals home while working in rescue, she currently has three dogs, two cats, a snake, and a few fish of her own.

Rachel Brown

Rachel is back after three years away. She has worked as a Veterinary Receptionist since 2010 when she met Dr. Karla at Salisbury Animal Hospital.

Originally from Massachusetts, she moved down to North Carolina in November of 2000. She has had pets her whole life.

She currently lives in Faith with her Husband and 9 cats. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Our goal is to provide excellent care for your pet at an affordable price.
