Dr. Mejia (formerly Bean) is a native of Rowan County. Raised on a small hobby farm, her interest in animals and animal care was started at a young age. After attending college and spending 3 years active duty in the U.S. Army, she decided to pursue her dream and attend Veterinary School. Her dream was realized when she graduated from N.C. State University in 2006 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mejia has a keen interest in cats and is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association.
She and her husband, Wil, own a small hobby farm with all types of farm animals, including chickens, goats, llamas, a steer, and the resident diva, her Haflinger mare, Sunny. Along with the farm animals, she and her husband enjoy caring for their many dogs and cats. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and horseback riding.
Rachel was born and raised in Massachusetts,
moving to North Carolina in 2000. She has had animals all her
life and has always wanted to work with them. Finally, realizing her dream, she started working in the veterinary field in 2010 and joined our team in June of 2016. She and her husband, Andrew, live in Faith with their many cats. When not working at the clinic, she enjoys pet sitting, crocheting and spending time with her husband and family.
Originally from Honduras, Wil has been part of the team since March of 2015. You will see him assisting in rooms for appointments, as well as in surgery and recovery. He has two dogs, a cat, and a horse, and when not working, enjoys playing soccer, pool, and outdoor activities.
Arnold has been part of the team since August 2016. He assists in rooms and performs various duties around the clinic. When not working, he enjoys watching and playing soccer, learning English, and attending church.
